    Patio Door Glass

What we fix on Billericay patio doors.

    Misty sliding patio doors

The most common CM11 job. Condensation trapped between the panes means the seal has gone. We replace the sealed unit and the door slides exactly as before.

    Cracked and smashed panes

Stone chips from the mower, a football, or a break-in. We can board up the same day and fit the made-to-measure toughened unit once it is manufactured.

    French and bi-fold door glass

Matched pairs replaced together so the tint and reflection stay consistent across every leaf.

Upgrades while the glass is out

Low-E energy glass, obscure privacy glass or integrated blinds sealed inside the unit - fitted at the same visit with no extra labour.

Before you buy a new door

    Sliding patio doors in Billericay:
    new door, or new glass?

Most people who ring us about their sliding patio door assume they need the whole thing replaced. Usually they do not. A sliding patio door is really three separate systems - the glass, the running gear and the frame - and they fail independently. Work out which one has actually gone and you often turn a four-figure job into a couple of hundred pounds.

Try this before you call anyone

If the door is simply hard to slide, vacuum the bottom track out properly, then find the small plastic caps at the bottom edge of the sliding panel. Behind each one is a roller adjustment screw. A quarter turn clockwise lifts that corner of the panel. Level the panel against the frame and most dragging doors come back to life. If it still fights you, the rollers are worn through and want replacing - but that is still not a new door.

    What each route actually costs

Reglazing a misty or cracked sliding panel in CM11 starts at £260 fitted. A full replacement sliding patio door installed in Billericay runs well into four figures once you add making good the opening and redecorating. We will tell you honestly which one you need at the survey, including when the answer is that a new door is the right call and we are not the people to sell it to you.

    Why Billericay patio doors fail

A lot of Billericay housing stock is 1970s and 1980s detached and semi-detached family homes, and the rear patio door is usually original or a first-generation uPVC replacement. Those big south-facing panels take the most heat cycling of any glass in the house, so the perimeter seal is nearly always the first thing to go. Once it does, moisture gets into the cavity and the pane mists.

We cover Billericay town centre, Great Burstead, South Green, Outwood Common, Buttsbury and Stock. Because we are only 15 minutes away on the A176, we survey most CM11 and CM12 jobs within 48 hours and fit within a week of measuring.
